You are in your quilt studio with several hours of uninterrupted time to yourself to quilt. You're motivated and inspired to start stitching. Everything is neatly organized and in its proper place. The tools you need are close at hand. The fabric and pattern you will be working on are already laid out, just waiting for you to start creating. Just imagine the feeling of finishing a quilt on time, without any distractions.
This ideal could be your reality when you join The Quilter’s Way.
You are a quilter…
and you know that quilting is more than just the stitching itself.
You also need:
- An organized place to quilt
- The proper tools with which to quilt
- The confidence and inspiration to quilt
- Adequate time to do the quilting
Without these basics, you may feel frustrated and you certainly won't have a productive quilting experience.
You want to enjoy your quilting...
After all, isn’t this why we all quilt? – but there are things that get in the way of your quilting enjoyment, such as family obligations, housework and similar responsibilities.
- You feel frustrated that you can never find the time to quilt.
- You have a disorganized and cluttered studio where you can never find your rotary cutter.
- You feel discouraged when you see what other quilters are creating and don't feel that you measure up.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. Many quilters struggle with these same issues and are feeling overwhelmed.
I’m Kim Jamieson-Hirst and I believe that quilting success is more than just perfecting your stitching:
It's having the right attitude, workspace, and time management skills to be the best quilter you can be.
When I started quilting...
I was disorganized. I didn’t have my studio set up properly and it wasn’t very efficient. This made it difficult to get much done. I could never find the time to fit in quilting with the other responsibilities I was managing. I was feeling frustrated and discouraged and often wasn't even motivated to quilt. This didn’t lead to a very happy quilting experience.
Over the years, I’ve learned how to set up and organize my studio space. I’ve been able to create systems to manage my time and carve out time to quilt. I’ve learned the skills I need to tackle the projects I want to create. I've been able to regain my motivation to quilt and all this has allowed me to enjoy my quilting once again.
I want to help you overcome all the things that stand in the way of you enjoying your quilting experience to the fullest so I’ve created an online membership group called The Quilter’s Way.
Unlike other quilting groups with which you might be familiar, The Quilter's Way is a whole new concept consisting of an online Learning Centre and Community where we address the complete quilting experience, not just how to stitch a 1/4" seam.
The Quilter’s Way is divided into 4 topics and will help you with:
Time – Learn how to find time to quilt and make the most of your quilting time
Mind – Identify and overcome mental blocks that are affecting your quilting
Studio – Declutter, set up, and organize your studio for efficient and enjoyable quilting
Skill – Learn and develop new quilting skills (more than learning how to stitch a perfect 1/4" seam)
The Learning Centre contains Quilter's Quickies, Mini Trainings, and In-depth Courses as well as downloadable information.
The Community is where you will chat with other quilters to get the answers to your most pressing questions and to use your knowledge to help others. It’s also where you’ll be able to watch live video shows and have exclusive access to me.
All of this information is available for you to access, without having to leave your studio, as a member of The Quilter's Way.
Think of it as an online quilt guild with all the education, support, and fun, but without the driving!
“Thanks for this video to get me on track. Because I‘m all over the place with my ufo’s. Thanks again Kim for this video to get me focus and on track to finish what I start and in a timely manner.”
“She is easy to listen to, provides enough up front instruction without unnecessary chit chat so you know what's going on then she runs through parts at accelerated speed. You see and learn what Kim is doing but don't have to slog through each piece which is good for her and us. Wonderful!!! ”
“Thank you for your wonderful hints and tips. This one is very close to my heart as I constantly lose focus on a project and start a new one. You are a gem.”
